In 2025, accommodation establishments served more than 17.3 million visitors, while January 2026 recorded approximately 1.223 million overnight visitors. The 2025 visitor total was 15% higher than in 2024, according to the 2025 Da Nang economic report. The same report put combined accommodation, food services and travel revenue above VND 60 trillion, up 21% year on year. These are city-level annual results and should not be directly added to the monthly or quarterly figures elsewhere in this article.

2025 visitors and economic indicators

Da Nang’s accommodation establishments served over 17.3 million visitors during 2025. The reported year-on-year increase was 15%, making visitor volume one of the clearest indicators of the city’s tourism expansion during the year.

Tourism-linked revenue also grew faster than visitor volume. Accommodation, food services and travel revenue exceeded VND 60 trillion in 2025, an increase of 21% year on year. The figures combine three related activities, so they describe the wider visitor economy rather than accommodation receipts alone.

Retail activity provides additional context for the scale of local spending. Total retail sales of goods in Da Nang reached VND 144,690 billion in 2025. The city’s estimated state budget revenue was VND 59,069 billion, and it had reached 109.1% of the estimate as of December 1, 2025.

The city’s estimated 2025 GRDP growth was 9.18%, ranking ninth among 34 provinces and cities. Current-price GRDP was estimated at VND 316.1 trillion, VND 35.5 trillion higher than in 2024. These economy-wide measures are not tourism-only statistics, but they help place the visitor and travel-service results within Da Nang’s broader 2025 performance.

January 2026 arrivals and flights

January 2026 began with approximately 1.223 million overnight visitors staying in Da Nang. That total was 11.6% higher than in January 2025. International arrivals accounted for 715.8 thousand visitors, up 13.1% year on year, while domestic visitors reached 507.6 thousand, an increase of 9.5%.

The international and domestic components together correspond to the reported total after rounding. The international share was therefore larger than the domestic component in this January measurement, but the source reports the two totals in thousands and the headline total approximately.

Overnight stays reached 1.069 million in January 2026, up 11.5% year on year. Accommodation and food service revenue was estimated at VND 4,614 billion, increasing 13.6% from January 2025. The revenue figure is an estimate and covers accommodation and food service rather than the broader annual combination of accommodation, food services and travel revenue.

Air access expanded alongside visitor demand. Da Nang welcomed about 4,500 flights during January 2026, 15.4% more than a year earlier. The reported average was 78 flights per day. Domestic flights numbered 2,400, up 11.6%, and international flights numbered 2,100, up 20.2%.

The January schedule also included several reported additions or plans. Air Cambodia resumed the Phnom Penh–Da Nang route with three flights per week from January 15, 2026. Sun PhuQuoc Airways planned Hanoi–Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City–Da Nang services from late February, followed by a planned Phu Quoc–Da Nang route in March. New Bali–Da Nang and Manila–Da Nang flights were also expected from March 2026. These route statements describe scheduled or expected capacity, not completed passenger totals.

DIFF 2025 and event-driven demand

The month-long DIFF festival in June 2025 drew about 1.17 million visitors served by accommodation establishments. That was nearly 10.3% higher than the June 2024 figure reported for the same measure. The first five fireworks nights attracted nearly 400,000 visitors, matching the total attendance recorded across all DIFF 2024 nights.

June tourism revenue reached about VND 3,869 billion across accommodation, food and travel services. The figure was 22% higher year on year. Because the revenue measure includes three service categories, it is broader than the January 2026 accommodation and food service estimate of VND 4,614 billion; the two numbers also cover different periods.

Hotel occupancy rose particularly sharply around the festival. Citywide room occupancy during the DIFF 2025 month was reported at 80% to 85%. Four- and five-star hotels, as well as properties in central or beachfront areas, operated at 85% to 90% occupancy.

Ahead of the DIFF 2025 final, citywide occupancy was forecast to reach 90% to 95%. Premium four- and five-star hotels with prime fireworks views were expected to reach 100% occupancy during the peak. These last two figures were forecasts or expectations, unlike the reported month-long occupancy ranges.

South Korea and India

South Korea remained a major source market in Da Nang’s international tourism pattern. On August 1, 2025, the city welcomed its 1 millionth Korean visitor of the year. South Korea had been among Da Nang’s three largest international markets since 2012 and had held the top international-market position since 2016.

Direct air connectivity expanded substantially over the longer period described in the 2025 Korean visitor report. South Korea–Da Nang service grew from one airline in 2011 to 12 airlines by 2025. Weekly frequency increased 22-fold, from seven flights per week to 150 flights per week.

The same report stated that international tourist arrivals to Da Nang grew by 120% to 130% across the periods 2015–2019 and 2023–2025. It also reported that the South Korean market doubled in visitor numbers over the period cited. These are report-defined comparisons across the two stated periods, rather than a single uninterrupted annual series.

India was another important market in 2025. Vietnam welcomed more than 746,000 Indian visitors during the year, while Da Nang alone attracted over 476,000 Indian arrivals. The Da Nang total represented 63% of all Indian visitors to Vietnam and accounted for 6.2% of Da Nang’s total international arrivals.

India ranked fourth among Da Nang’s top 10 international source markets. Indian visitor numbers doubled year on year compared with 2024. The national and city totals use “more than” and “over” qualifiers, so they should be read as reported thresholds rather than exact counts.

Russia, CIS and new air capacity

Da Nang’s 2026 Russia and CIS launch added further long-haul and regional capacity. The inaugural Astana–Da Nang flight carried 370 passengers. The route operated three flights per week in April and May 2026 and was expected to increase to six flights per week from June.

The inaugural Vladivostok–Da Nang flight carried 220 passengers. That route operated two flights per month in April 2026 and was scheduled to rise to three flights per month from May. The frequency figures for both routes describe operations or schedules, while the inaugural passenger numbers are reported flight totals.

Da Nang welcomed about 2.3 million international visitors in the first three months of 2026. Russia and the CIS accounted for over 100,000 of those first-quarter visitors, representing about 4.35% of international arrivals in the period.

Tour operator capacity was also projected for the full year. Anex Tour was expected to operate approximately 169 flights to Da Nang in 2026, projected to bring around 23,000 passengers. Crystal Bay was projected to operate about 400 flights, expected to carry roughly 80,000 to 100,000 passengers. These are 2026 projections and should not be treated as completed annual outcomes.

Taken together, the reported figures show several distinct drivers of Da Nang tourism: a large 2025 accommodation base, higher January 2026 international and domestic demand, festival-led occupancy peaks, and fast-growing air links with major Asian and emerging European-area markets. The measurement periods and definitions vary, so annual, monthly, event-month, market-share and forecast figures are best used side by side as indicators rather than combined into one total.
