Editorial scores reflect listed features and buyer fit; they are not laboratory measurements or customer ratings.
Platform flexibility
The USB-C dongle is designed for swapping among several console, computer, and mobile platforms, which suits multi-device households.
Wireless versatility
A button toggles between 2.4GHz gaming and Bluetooth 5.3, giving the headset a straightforward path between game audio and phone media or calls.
Preset selection
The companion app offers more than 100 game audio presets, a useful way to tailor settings for supported titles without adjusting every option manually.
Battery and charging
The stated 60-hour battery and USB-C fast charging are convenient on paper, including a stated six hours of use from a 15-minute charge.
On-headset controls
Power, mute, volume, ChatMix, and quick-switch controls are placed on the headset, supporting adjustments without reaching for a separate control device.
Microphone design
The fully retractable ClearCast 2.X microphone is convenient to stow when not needed; its presence alone does not establish how it performs in noisy or windy settings.

Who Should Buy Arctis Nova 5X?
Good fit
Choose the Arctis Nova 5X if one headset needs to move among Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch, and mobile devices. The compact USB-C dongle and switchable 2.4GHz/Bluetooth connection address different use cases without requiring separate headsets.
It also suits players who like ready-made audio settings and want mute, volume, ChatMix, and quick switching at hand. The retractable mic can be tucked away when voice chat is not in use.
Who should skip it
Look elsewhere if your priority is proven microphone performance in difficult outdoor conditions; check for testing that matches your environment before relying on it for frequent windy calls.
Consider another headset if you do not need wireless multi-platform support, app presets, or built-in game/chat controls; those features make up much of this model's appeal.
Arctis Nova 5X Review Analysis
Wireless modes and device switching
The two wireless paths serve different routines: use 2.4GHz for gaming, then tap into Bluetooth for a call or media.
That convenience is most useful when moving between a console or computer and a phone, while the USB-C dongle extends the headset's reach across the listed gaming platforms.
Presets and everyday adjustments
More than 100 game presets offer a starting point for supported titles through the companion app. On-headset mute, volume, and ChatMix controls complement that app access, so routine adjustments remain available during play.
Battery and microphone considerations
The 60-hour battery specification and quick USB-C top-up target long stretches between charges.
A retractable microphone is practical for mixed gaming and listening, but buyers who make frequent calls in noisy places should look for microphone testing from comparable conditions.
